Futsal Besiktas Gent, founded in 2015 by Cagkan Top and his family, is known as the only Ghent 2nd national in indoor soccer. The club was founded with the mission of providing a professional framework and using sport as a social binding agent within society. Since then, the club has grown into a household name in the Belgian indoor soccer world.
Mission & Vision
Futsal Besiktas Gent strives to support and promote recreational and competitive indoor soccer. An important part of our mission is the KAA Gent Foundation's Street League program, where young people can play soccer in a low-threshold way without the competition element. By partnering with established organizations like the KAA Gent Foundation, we increase our impact and provide young people with valuable life skills in addition to sports activities.
Futsal Besiktas Gent is a dynamic and growing club with a diverse composition of seven teams, including five youth teams, a men's team and a women's team. In total, the club has about 120 players, which emphasizes the size and commitment of our community. Our teams train and play their games in the Tolhuis Arena, an excellently equipped facility that fully meets the needs of our players.
New players and members wishing to join Futsal Besiktas Gent can easily contact us at info@futsalbesiktas.be. We welcome anyone who wants to be part of our club and contribute to our mission.
Each year we participate in various competitions within the Koninklijke Belgische Voetbalbond (KBVB) and tournaments like Keizer Karel Cup. These events give our players a chance to showcase their skills and compete with other talented teams.
In addition to our weekly indoor soccer activities, we are also actively involved in social projects such as the Street League In cooperation with the KAA Gent Foundation and Project Malem, supported by the City of Ghent. These projects strengthen our social role and provide young people with valuable leisure activities.
Futsal Besiktas Gent has achieved impressive milestones over the years, including the title of Youth Association of the Year (2018), and won at least one final at the Keizer Karel Cup since 2017. We are the Only Ghent indoor soccer club in 2nd national since 2015 and the only Ghent club with women in 1st national. A highlight was winning the national championship for women in the 2021-2022 season.
Memorable matches such as the victory in the International women's tournament in Nantes (Mondial Futsal Cup) in 2024 and the 2019 Ghent derby, which drew more than 400 spectators, mark our rich history. Our story began modestly in the Farm Park (Brugse Poort), and we have since produced several players who are now active as professional soccer players, such as Bilal El Khannouss (KRC Genk), Mika Godts (Ajax), Pierre Dwomoh (Antwerp), Rayan Buifrahi (VV Maastricht), Renzo Tytens (Club Brugge), Ngala’yel Mukau (Losc Lille), Massimo Decoene (KV Kortrijk), Sekoru Diawara (Udinese), Leandro Wauters (KV Oostende), Tristan Degreef (RSCA Anderlecht) en Mert Kurt (Giresunspor).
Our club also actively contributes to the local community by partnering with projects such as the KAA Gent Foundation and Project Malem. By doing so, we offer young people valuable leisure activities and strengthen social cohesion in our region.
Our future plans include continuing our social projects and starting a youth center that will serve young people. We aim to be in the 1st National League play and become a fixture there, while we continue to embrace diversity as a central pillar of our club.
